The Appearance settings allows you to change settings for the visual appearance of objects on the mat.

Fill: Choose to have no fill, color, pattern, or gradient.
Fill Opacity: Transparency for the fill, where 100% will be completely opaque.

Stroke: Choose to have no stroke, color or pen color.
Stroke Opacity: Transparency for the stroke, where 100% will be completely opaque.
Width: Thickness of the stroke.
Join: How corners will be drawn. This will not affect how the shape will cut.

Miter: Stroke with pointed corners. If the length of the pointed corner exceeds the Miter threshold, the corner will be changed to a beveled corner.
Round: Stroke with rounded corners.
Bevel: Stroke with squared corners.

Miter: If the Join is set to Miter, this controls when the stroke will change a corner from a pointed corner to a beveled corner.
End Cap: If the path is an open path, this determines how the ends of the stroke are displayed. This will not affect how the shape will be cut.

Butt: Stroke with squared ends.
Round: Stroke with semicircular ends.
Square: Stroke with squared ends that extend half the line width beyond the end of the line.

Line Style: Choose between a solid or dashed (perforated line). Click the Edit button to create your own custom dashed line pattern.
